چکیده
Magnetic-field – temperature phase diagrams of the axial next-nearest-neighbor Ising model are calculated within the framework of a Landau-type expansion of the free energy derived from molecular-field theory. Good qualitative agreement is found with recently reported results on body-centered-tetragonal U P d 2 Si 2. This work is expected to also be relevant for related compounds.

Electroweak phase transition in a magnetic field is investigated within the one-loop and ring diagram contributions to an effective potential. All fundamental fermions and bosons are included with their actual values of masses . The only free parameter remains the Higgs boson mass mH . It is shown that the ring diagrams affect the phase transition drastically . The effective potential is real a...
متن کاملField Theory approach to a Dipole - Quadrupole interaction model
We study a model initially proposed to describe a mixture of (CO) 1−x (N 2) x adsorbed on exfoliated graphite. The approach used here is that of mean field theory. The Mean Field equations and the Helmholtz Free Energy are found. Phase diagrams are calculated too, and it is possible to find an analytic expression for the second order phase transition line.
متن کاملDynamic phase transitions and dynamic phase diagrams in the kinetic mixed spin-1 and spin-2 Ising system in an oscillating magnetic field*
In recent years, several theoretical studies on the equilibrium properties of two sublattice mixed spin-1 and spin-2 Ising model have been reported [1]. Nonequlibrium properties of this model has not been investigated so far. One of the interesting problems in nonequlibrium systems is to calculate the dynamic phase transition (DPT) temperatures and present the dynamic phase diagrams. In this wo...

We investigate numerically and analytically Potts models on " thin " random graphs – generic Feynman diagrams, using the idea that such models may be expressed as the N → 1 limit of a matrix model. The thin random graphs in this limit are locally tree-like, in distinction to the " fat " random graphs that appear in the planar Feynman diagram limit, N → ∞, more familiar from discretized models o...
متن کامل1 9 M ay 2 00 4 A brief review of recent advances on the Mott transition : unconventional transport , spectral weight transfers , and critical behaviour
Strongly correlated metals close to the Mott transition display unusual transport regimes, together with large spectral weight transfers in optics and photoemission. We briefly review the theoretical understanding of these effects, based on the dynamical mean-field theory, and emphasize the key role played by the two energy scales associated with quasiparticle coherence scale and with the Mott ...
